Did we really just do that?!

Are we crazy or adventurous? That's the questions on everyone's lips.

My family of 5 sold up everything we ever owned and loved, packed our suitcases left our home in Perth, Australia and made our way to Bali, Indonesia. Not that far away in the scheme of the World but by far the biggest and craziest thing anybody in our family had ever done.

We are a very normal yet thrill seeking family who love the down to earth simple life. Our life back in Australia was humble with our day to day routines consisting of normal public school, homemaking, baking and making from scratch wholesome foods (look out for our favourite recipes} we always knew there was something more in store for us.

We had played around with the idea of moving overseas for about two years but had never settled on where until our first family trip to Bali in April of 2023. As soon as we arrived we fell instantly in love and knew this could someday be our home. But honestly I didn't really think at first that I'd be brave enough to go for it.

So how did a one income family from Australia who loves the simple life come to take the big leap?

About 18 months and one more holiday over later we decided it was the right thing for us, we spent a couple of months selling and donating all of our belongings and saying goodbye to our amazing friends.

We shipped our beloved dog up to Darwin to be cared for (good on ya, Grandma!) packed our suitcases and we were off, ready or not!
